Laws pleased despite Shrews draw
Brian Laws was happy with the effort, but was disappointed his side only came away with a point after a goalless draw with Shrewsbury.
Scunthorpe failed to convert one of a string of chances, with Jimmy Ryan, Mike Grella, Michael Collins and Karl Hawley all going close.
"We have had a lot of possession but you've got to capitalise on the possession and put the ball in the back of the net", Laws told BBC Humberside.
"We did not have that killer instinct infront of goal.
"Effort wise it was excellent and the fans were very very good at the end of the game, they didn't boo and that gives you an indication that you have put an effort in".
Despite dominating the game, Laws was happy to take a point from a team at the bottom of the table.
"We'll take the positives, they are small building blocks"
"If you can't beat them, you don't lose and today was a very good performance"
Laws also reserved praise for goalkeeper Sam Slocombe for pulling off a great save in the dying minutes to deny Shrewsbury taking all three points.
"That was a class save, great gredit to Sam. That's given him a bit of belief".
