Scunthorpe United have emerged as the winners of the race to sign much-coveted striker Gary Hooper from Southend United.
The 20-year-old hot-shot had been the subject of bids from several clubs - including Cheltenham Town - following his impressive form last season.
Hooper scored 11 goals during 19 appearances while on loan in League Two with Hereford United last term with his goals helping the Bulls secure automatic promotion.
The Iron will pay an immediate £125,000 to Southend for the striker, while the fee could rise to £175,000 subject to career achievements.
Hooper, who began his career in non-league football with Grays Athletic, will officially join up with his new side on a three-year contract after passing a medical at Glanford Park.
