Iron want to keep Youga

Scunthorpe United manager Nigel Adkins is keen to sign on-loan defender Kelly Youga on a permanent basis.

Youga, 22, is currently on loan at Glanford Park from Charlton Athletic but the Iron boss is keen to keep hold of the former Lyon defender.

"I'm very hopeful that we'll be able to keep Kelly - at least until the end of this season," he said.

Youga has made 18 appearances for Scunthorpe since arriving in July.

He has yet to feature in a first-team match for the Addicks during two-and-a-half years at The Valley.
