Scunthorpe United have offered a trial to Ipswich Town youngster Liam Trotter.
The 20-year-old enjoyed a spell on loan at Grimsby Town earlier in the season and impressed during his time with the Mariners.
The midfielder's Portman Road contract expires in the summer, but Ipswich boss Jim Magilton has stressed that he is still part of his plans.
"I was happy for him to stay with us but the lad was keen to go up there for a few days and we didn't want to stand in his way," Magilton told the club's official website.
He added: "He's out of contract in the summer but that doesn't mean he hasn't got a future at this football club. He's still very much an Ipswich Town player."
