Scunthorpe United have sealed the free transfer signing of former Swansea City centre-half Izzy Iriekpen on a two-year contract.
The 25-year-old has opted to leave the Swans for the challenge of the Championship and is looking forward to his time at Glanford Park.
He told the club's official website: "It has been hard to leave Swansea because I had a great time there.
"But there are some big teams in this league and that's a challenge I think I am ready for now.
"Nigel Adkins phoned me and we arranged a meeting and from that meeting I wanted to play for him. He's that kind of a manager, very infectious and positive."
Meanwhile, Iron boss Adkins is keen to get Marcus Williams' future sorted out, amid rumours that the full-back may opt to move on this summer.
He told the Evening Telegraph: "We did receive a written transfer request from Marcus last week while he was away on holiday.
"But I do not want to make something that is very, very small into something massively big."
