Iron sign Jennings, but Dagnall on way out

Scunthorpe have completed the signing of teenage striker Connor Jenning, with Chris Dagnall believed to be on the verge of joining Barnsley.

Although the transfer fee is undisclosed, the non-league side had made it clear they were looking for a figure of more than £100,000 for the player.Jennings, 19, has scored 50 goals in 78 starts in his two years of senior football - including scoring on his debut against Hinckley.He becomes the first signing of the January transfer window, as manager Alan Knill looks to refresh his side to try and head off a relegation battle.

The Scunthorpe Telegraph report that Chris Dagnall is poised to complete a move to the Championship side Barnsley.

Defender Michael Nelson is ealso xpected to leave, with his agent claiming the Scottish Premier League among possible destinations, while the club also hope to bring Shane Duffy back on loan despite his parent club Everton recalling him to face Tamworth in the FA Cup third round.
