Scunthorpe United boss Nigel Adkins was rightly jubilant after seeing his side clinch promotion to the Championship with a 2-0 home win over Huddersfield Town.
Two goals from Billy Sharp were enough to end a 43-year wait for a return to the second tier of English football and Adkins was exultant.
He told the Evening Telegraph: "I know just how much it means for these supporters to be back at this level. I'm so proud to have been part of the team that has got them there.
"It has been an historic season for us, but we have led the table since the turn of the year and we deserve our success.
"It's time to savour the moment and then get ourselves prepared for the last three games of the season, because we don't just want promotion, we want to go up as champions.
"It's a terrific achievement for a club the size of Scunthorpe and it is all down to hard work from everyone involved."
