Iron return delights Milne

Scunthorpe United defender Kenny Milne was a happy man after finally making a return to action after more than 16 months on the sidelines.

The 30-year-old featured in the 1-0 FA Cup third round win over Barnsley, having not featured for the Iron since August 2008 due to a career-threatening knee injury.

He told the club's official website: "I have to thank the fans, they have been terrific with me.

"I've only played one full game since I signed and to have the fans shouting my name was fantastic.

"I just have to keep working hard on my knee and hopefully play a few reserve games.

"I need to get minutes under my belt, as much as I'd love to play a first-team game for 90 minutes, I need to get myself in the right condition first.

"I know what I can do and I'm still a million miles away from that, but it's a start."
