Iron land midfielder Wright
03 Jan 2008 - 10:45:09
Scunthorpe United have handed a short-term contract to former Liverpool trainee Andrew Wright.
The 22-year-old midfielder has been playing in America for the past couple of years but impressed manager Nigel Adkins during a recent trial.
Wright has put pen to paper on an initial six-month deal with the Iron with the option for a further year.
Meanwhile, goalkeeping coach Kevin Pressman is looking to get back into shape after recently being re-registered as a player to provide emergency cover for regular custodians Joe Murphy and Josh Lillis.
The 40-year-old has recently been named as an unused substitute.
"At the end of the day I'm on the coaching staff but you've got to keep yourself fit as you would do as a player too," he told the club's official website.
"I didn't realise that at the time and I've got to do something about it - which I am.
"I'm going to get myself fit again so that if I am needed I can help everybody at the football club to achieve the status they desire, which is staying in the Championship."
