Scunthorpe United boss Nigel Adkins has snapped up Manchester City youngster Shaleum Logan on an emergency loan deal after learning that Cliff Byrne faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Byrne has broken his leg but Logan, who was recently offered a three-year deal by City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson, can fill in for him at right-back. The 19-year-old has made two Carling Cup appearances for Manchester City, in this season's victories against Bristol City and Norwich City. He recently returned from a loan spell at Grimsby Town, scoring twice in five appearances for Alan Buckley's side.
