Iron cut Foy loose

Scunthorpe United boss Nigel Adkins has begun shaping his promotion-winning squad for next season after releasing Robbie Foy. The 21-year-old midfielder arrived at Glanford Park in August following a successful trial, but has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth during the second half of the campaign. The former Liverpool youngster has made just one League One start for the Iron and nine appearances in total and his short-term contract has been cancelled by mutual consent. Foy has previously spent loan spells at Wrexham and Chester City after being handed his first professional contract at Anfield three years ago.
