    Iron boss wants Beckford

    09 May 2007 - 12:37:02

Scunthorpe United boss Nigel Adkins has offered new contracts to three players and revealed he wants to sign loan striker Jermaine Beckford on a permanent basis.

Adkins has offered fresh terms to Steve Foster, Jim Goodwin and Richard Hinds following the Iron's promotion to the Championship.

And the United chief has set his sights on luring Beckford to Glanford Park on a permanent basis from Leeds United.

Beckford has netted eight times in 18 games for the League One champions this term.

"I have already spoken to his agent and Jermaine seems keen to come here," Adkins told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

Meanwhile, Steve Torpey, Neil MacKenzie and Ashley Allanson have been told they will not be offered new deals.
