Iron add defender to ranks

Scunthorpe United have added free agent defender Kenny Milne to their ranks for the new season.

Milne, 28, has joined the Iron on a free transfer after leaving Falkirk following three seasons with the Scottish Premier League outfit.

"I've played in Scotland for a long time now and I fancied a whole new challenge," he told the club's official website.

"I spoke to the manager and I was dead impressed with what he had to say.

"He has ambitions to get the club back into the Championship and I want to be a part of that.

"I've been offered the chance to come down to England and I think now is the best time to do that."
