Barnsley have decided to recall Paul Hayes from his loan spell at Huddersfield Town, after the striker suffered an ankle injury during training.
The 23-year-old had scored once in four outings for the Terriers, but has now headed back to Oakwell after just a month with Town.
Caretaker Huddersfield boss Gerry Murphy told the club's official website: "Paul has been fantastic since I have taken over first-team affairs here.
"He's been a model professional during his time with us and has contributed with a great goal against Bradford at the Galpharm, as well as an impressive performance at Carlisle last weekend.
"In an ideal world I would have loved to have him here for the rest of the season, but it is Barnsley's right to call him back."
