Grant ready for fresh challenge

Scunthorpe United newcomer Bobby Grant is excited ahead of the new Championship season after making his way to Glanford Park.

The 20-year-old has joined The Iron from Accrington Stanley and will be hoping to make his mark during the club's pre-season friendlies ahead of the league opener at Reading on August 7.

With Chris Dagnall also a new acquisition, Grant is raring to get started alongside his new team-mates.

Speaking to the club's official website, he said: "I'm looking forward to the friendlies. Pre-season is all about getting your fitness up and getting back into the swing of things. For myself and Chris it will be great to play in the friendlies, because we can get ourselves on the same wavelength as the rest of the side.

"It will be good getting to know my team-mates and how they work. I was a bit nervous coming in on my first morning to meet the new players.

"I guess it's always like that when you join a new club, but the lads have made me feel really welcome. I had my friends at Accrington wishing me well and my family wishing me luck.

"It's the first time I've had to walk into a changing room and meet a new set of lads, but I'm really happy that I've moved here."
