Scunthorpe United centre-half Rob Jones has admitted that the Boxing Day clash against Middlesbrough could make or break his Christmas.

The 30-year-old hails from the area and was born in Stockton-on-Tees but he is only going home for just one thing - and that is to claim a win for the Iron.

Speaking to Scunthorpe Telegraph, he said: "All my family and my wife's family are from around there, so there will be a few people spotted around the ground, which will be nice, especially on Boxing Day.

"I was never a Middlesbrough fan, but the majority of my family are."
