Duo set for lift Iron

Scunthorpe boss Ian Baraclough is hopeful winger Garry Thompson and left-back Jim McNulty will return to full training on Monday.Thompson has been sidelined for two months with a groin injury but is targeting a return in next weekend's home clash with Doncaster.McNulty has been absent for a similar period with an ankle injury, yet both men have responded well to treatment and could feature for the reserves at Leeds next Tuesday.Baraclough told Iron Player: "They're both looking to start training on Monday and it will be great for us going into the Doncaster game to have a pretty much fully-fit squad."It heightens the competition for places, with Garry up front and Jim McNulty in defence."It gives us good scope to go into the next group of games with a strong squad. If I can add the two or three players I want to bring in too, then that will be a bonus and we will have a squad which has plenty of competition for places."
