Chairman 'to step down'

Steve Wharton, the Scunthorpe United chairman, has said he will quit his role in the summer.

He revealed his departure at a press conference on Monday, reported by BBC Radio Humberside, after appointing Brian Laws as manager for his third stint.

"I'm not looking to make any money, I'd give my shares away," he was reported as saying by the Scunthorpe Telegraph.
