Cardiff's Bothroyd in England frame

Jay Bothroyd could play at two of the greatest stadiums in England this week - after being included in the preliminary England squad for next week's friendly against France at Wembley. The forward, 28, must come through Saturday's game at North Lincolnshire unscathed if he is to be in contention to make Fabio Capello's final squad. The Italian coach does not name his preliminary squads publicly, but the Cardiff manager Dave Jones revealed Botroyd was included after netting 13 goals for the Bluebirds this season. "He's [Bothroyd] in the prelim and we're hoping that he'll be in the full squad," he said. "Nothing would give us a prouder moment than he does get a call-up and actually gets on the pitch."
