Bara likes attacking intent of 4-3-3
Published : 19 Oct 2010 22:55:17

Ian Baraclough, the Scunthorpe manager, hinted he might keep faith with the 4-3-3 formation after Tuesday's win over Preston North End. The Iron were 3-2 victors at Deepdale after adopting a more attacking approach, but had to come from 2-1 down to claim all three points. "I've played three in midfield that all wanted to get on the ball, though I thought they were edgy at times," said Baraclough. "If it broke down we were left a little bit bare, which is something i'm a little bit mindful of, but I like that formation if you've got the right players which I think we have. I thought we dominated the game for large periods. we haven't had problems form set-pieces all season, but then they score two. "The people concerned have held their hands up, so I'm pleased about that. We know where it went wrong and we'll get that rectified. We showed great resilience to come back and win. "I was pleased for long periods, but felt we could have used the ball a lot better. We gave it away a bit too easily. We've played decent triangles, but when we went long gave it away too easy." Baraclough said the win would give the side great confidence ahead of Saturday's trip to Watford. "Preston are below us in the table so it's a massive win. we're going to go to Watford in good spirit and i believe we can get something there," he added. "We've created so many chances, and if we put them away like this we are a match for anyone."
