Adkins shuns Terriers talk

Scunthorpe United goalkeeper Joe Murphy has confirmed that Iron boss Nigel Adkins has dismissed rumours linking him with the managerial vacancy at Huddersfield Town.

Adkins has been strongly linked with the Terriers post in recent days, but Murphy believes his manager is going nowhere.

He told the Evening Telegraph: "The gaffer pulled us to one side last Friday after training and told us there had been speculation about his future.

"But he said he hadn't heard anything and the board hadn't heard anything either.

"Why should he go to another team when he's with one sitting at the top of the league?

"We all want him here. He's good at his job and good at motivating the players. If he wasn't we wouldn't be where we are."
