Adkins pleased to land McNulty

Scunthorpe United manager Nigel Adkins is happy to have finally been able to bring left-back Jim McNulty to Glanford Park.

The 30-year-old has joined the Iron on an initial month's loan from Brighton & Hove Albion and was an unused substitute for the midweek 4-0 thrashing of Peterborough United.

He told the Evening Telegraph: "Jim is a player that I liked when we played Stockport a couple of years ago, I was very impressed with him.

"He's someone that we looked at and made enquiries about before he went to Brighton, but we couldn't get anywhere near the finances that Brighton could offer.

"We kept tabs on him and he became available on Tuesday morning, so we've managed to bring him into the building for a month. It's great, we can have a good look at him."
