Adkins keeps his Friend

Scunthorpe United manager Nigel Adkins has allowed on-loan defender Bondz N'Gala to return to his parent club following an unsuccessful spell at the club.

N'Gala will return to West Ham United after making just two appearances from the substitutes bench.

However, the Iron will retain the services of Wolverhampton Wanderers defender George Friend, who has impressed in the last two games against Blackpool and Watford.

Speaking to Scunthorpe Telegraph, he said: "Bondz is a good player but he has been unfortunate while here with us.

"We brought him in while Rob Jones was struggling with a back problem, but Rob is fit again now.

"As for George (Friend), we have been delighted with him while he has been here.

"He has played all those positions for Wolves and he will create competition for places."
