Adkins hopeful on contract trio

Goalkeeper Murphy, winger Hurst and full-back Morris are all out of contract ahead of the new season but Adkins has held positive talks with all three. "There has been plenty of private negotiation going on," he told the club's official website. "We've been negotiating all summer and all being well those issues will be resolved this week - all three have said they want to stay." Adkins is also looking to bolster his squad ahead of the Championship season, but warned that a move for Crewe midfielder Michael O'Connor is far from complete. "There is a long way to go with that one," he added.
