Adkins earns monthly award

Scunthorpe United boss Nigel Adkins has been named February's League One Manager of the Month.

The league leaders extended their lead over second-placed Yeovil Town to nine points with a 3-1 victory over Crewe on Tuesday night.

The Iron are now unbeaten in 13 games, but Adkins won the award after guiding his side to five successive league victories in February.

In the wins over Bristol City, Rotherham, Swansea, Gillingham and Crewe, Adkins' side conceded just two goals.

Adkins was handed the accolade ahead of Crewe boss Dario Gradi, Millwall's Willie Donachie and Brentford manager Scott Fitzgerald.
