Adkins confirms Celtic move imminent for Hooper

Nigel Adkins, the Scunthorpe manager, expects striker Gary Hooper to complete a move to the Scottish Premier League side Glasgow Celtic early this week. Hooper, 22, was left out of the squad that played Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday to avoid an injury that would put a move in doubt. "I think there has been talks between Celtic and our chairma but the fact of the matter is Gary has not signed anything yet," Adkins told the Scunthorpe Telegraph. "I would imagine something will materialise over the course of the weekend and that is why Gary did not figure for us." The Scottish Sun claimed on Saturday morning that a £2.4million fee had been agreed. Celtic were in Lincolnshire this weekend for a pre-season friendly against Lincoln City, so are well placed to hold talks with both the Iron and Hooper.
