Scunthorpe United boss Nigel Adkins still believes there is much more to come from his players despite Saturday's 3-0 win over Crewe Alexandra moving them to the top of the League One table.
Goals from Martyn Woolford, Paul Hayes and Izzy Iriekpen secured the points for the Iron against a side toiling at the wrong end of the table.
"It was good that the supporters had the opportunity to sing 'we are top of the league' and we managed to score three goals at home," Adkins told the club's official website.
"In the second half I felt some of the play was a joy to watch. We had some great counter-attacking play and some of our passing was superb and crisp.
"In the first half the passing wasn't as good I wanted it to be and I feel that there is so much more to come from this football team.
"We have a meeting on Monday to debrief the first ten games of the season and we will see what we can improve."
