Scunthorpe have agreed to sign winger Andy Welsh on a one-year deal following his release by Carlisle.

The club will also retain an option to extend the deal by a further year.

“I’m happy to have got it all sorted and now I’m really looking forward to getting started", Welsh said.

“It’s been a frustrating couple of years for myself but it’s all about staying positive and moving forward. “I just want to make sure that I enjoy my football and hopefully with that will come success. “I’ve played here a couple of times before in the past and it’s always a difficult place to play so hopefully we can all have a successful season.”

Welsh boasts a wealth of experience having previously played in both the Premier League and the Championship as well as in the lower leagues.
