Marcus Williams, who left Scunthorpe United on Monday after rejected a new contract, has signed a three-year deal with Championship rivals Reading. Brian McDermott, the Royals manager, highlighted the left-backs pace as a key attribute that will fit in with his new teammates.   "We like our full-backs to get forward and he will fit into that," he said.   "Scunthorpe had offered him a decent contract but he was keen to come here. He's impressed with the club and I know he will enjoy it here.   "There was interest from other clubs but they didn't speak with anyone else, they made their decision and felt we were the right club for him."
