The club's directors came to the decision at this morning's monthly board meeting.
A club statement read: "Following impressive back-to-back away performances at Rochdale and Portsmouth which culminated in two wins, United will continue to take their time in the search for a successor to Brian Laws as they seek to ensure they choose the right man.
"The club are delighted with the response of the players and coaching staff, and hope the good form continues against Torquay United on Saturday and throughout December".
