The club have taken up an option in Slocombe's deal which will keep the shotstopper at the club until the end of the 2014-15 season.
“Sam had an option in his contract,” Laws explained to the Club's Official website.
“We certainly had to review it. We had that option, which we’ve just taken up.
“We think it’s important to show, to Sam, in particular – who has had a great start to the season – how we believe in him.
The Iron had to extend the deal before December, or the club would lose the right to take up the option.
“It gives us the knowledge he’s going to be with us next season at least and then come the summer we will look at it again and possibly make it even longer".
