McAllister hopes to return

Scunthorpe midfielder Sean McAllister is hoping to return to contention for the home game against York.

McAllister has been sidelined since sustaining a collarbone injury at the end of March but has been back in full training this week and could be included on the bench.

Defender Marcus Williams is nursing a groin problem and will be monitored, but otherwise boss Russ Wilcox has a full-strength squad to choose from, with teenage winger Hakeeb Adelakun plus strikers Deon Burton and Paul Hayes pushing for recalls.

The Iron sealed automatic promotion last week despite seeing their 28-game unbeaten run halted at Exeter.

York manager Nigel Worthington is expected to name his strongest available side for the game.

The Minstermen, assured of a top-seven finish, have no new injury or suspension problems, but Worthington is keen to maintain his side's momentum heading into the play-offs and hopes for a fifth-placed finish.

Winger Will Hayhurst and strikers Ryan Jarvis and Ryan Bowman will be hoping for recalls, while midfielder Josh Carson, forward Wes Fletcher and defender Dan Parslow (all knee) remain sidelined.

York, who thumped Scunthorpe 4-1 at Bootham Crescent in October, are unbeaten in their last 16 matches and chasing a fourth straight win.
