Mark Robins set to make changes against Wigan

Mark Robins will consider rotating his squad against Wigan after a busy festive period took its toll on his Scunthorpe players.

The Iron claimed a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Rochdale on Monday, and the manager admitted a number of his players were feeling the effects of the quick turn-around from Boxing Day.

David Mirfin got through a full 90 minutes for the first time following his hamstring injury, but could make way for Charlie Goode against Wigan should he need extra time to recover.

Robins could turn to Kevin van Veen in attack after hinting he could be getting more game-time in the future, but he will have to fight off competition from Darius Henderson and Luke Williams.

Yanic Wildschut could play the final game of his Wigan loan.

The Middlesbrough forward, a popular figure at the DW Stadium, is slated to return to the north east after this fixture unless Latics can persuade him and Boro to extend the deal.

Latics' attacking options have been boosted by the return of Grant Holt from a stint with Wolves this week, while Jordy Hiwula came off the bench to score against Fleetwood on Monday.

Francisco Junior (groin) has spent the festive period getting treatment back at parent club Everton and Kevin McNaughton (knee) is also missing.
