Dawson doubt for Iron

Scunthorpe's new loan signing Marcus Williams could be included in the squad for the home game against former boss Alan Knill's Torquay, but defender Andy Dawson is doubtful.

Defender Williams, who began his career at Scunthorpe, returned on loan on Thursday, while Dawson sustained a hip injury in the Iron's impressive midweek win at Rochdale.

Eddie Nolan, recently recovered from a long-term hamstring injury, replaced Dawson on Tuesday night and could make his first start since September, while Andrew Boyce, a recent loan signing from Lincoln, is hoping to be included in the squad.

Midfielder Matt Sparrow has missed the last four games due to an ankle injury and remains doubtful as the Iron chase a third straight league win.

Torquay will travel without striker Ade Azeez.

The Charlton loanee had to be withdrawn just five minutes after coming on in Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Plymouth because of a hamstring injury and he has returned to The Valley to receive treatment.

Former Swindon winger Billy Bodin could return from his cartilage injury to time to feature at Glanford Park but Ben Harding's foot problem will rule him out.

Knill was delighted with his new strike pairing of Elliot Benyon and Millwall loanee John Marquis and the pair are set to start in attack once more as Torquay look to move out of the League Two relegation zone.
