Scunthorpe v Southend

Scunthorpe will not be welcoming back any of the their injured contingent for the visit of Southend.

Lee Novak (ankle), Funso Ojo, Jordan Clarke, Luke Williams (all hamstring), Jonathan Margetts (knee), Rory McArdle and Sam Mantom (groin) are all unavailable.

Even worse, key midfielder Andrew Crofts suffered a knock against MK Dons and has also been ruled out.

Neal Bishop leaves a further hole in midfield as he begins a three-game ban.

Southend will be without Michael Timlin after the midfielder damaging ankle ligaments in the 2-1 defeat to Bradford at Roots Hall.

Timlin suffered the injury in the first half but played on until being replaced in the 69th minute.

Phil Brown should have Anthony Wordsworth available for the trip to Scunthorpe after picking up a calf injury last weekend.

Wordsworth received extensive treatment on the injury throughout the week and should be fit to play.
