Scunthorpe leading goalscorer Josh Morris remains doubtful against Rochdale

Scunthorpe's leading goalscorer Josh Morris remains doubtful for the home game against Rochdale.

The 20-goal midfielder missed Saturday's defeat at Gillingham due to a cut on his foot, which needed stitches after last week's defeat at Charlton, and will be assessed.

Jamie Ness is expected to continue if Morris sits it out again, while Tom Hopper is also hoping to retain his place in the starting XI after replacing Duane Holmes at the weekend.

Defender Conor Townsend will be monitored after missing the last two games but midfielder Sam Mantom is still sidelined as the Iron chase their first league win in 10 matches.

Rochdale striker Steve Davies has been ruled out after sustaining a calf injury in Saturday's draw at MK Dons.

Davies was starting his second game after returning from a knee injury - which had sidelined him since mid-January - and his loss is a further blow to depleted Dale.

Fellow striker Calvin Andrew struggled through the full 90 minutes at the weekend despite having tonsilitis and is doubtful, while both Josh Lillis (knee) and Joe Bunney (foot) are still unavailable.

Matty Lund sits out the second game of his two-match ban and Donal McDermott also misses out as he completes a three-game suspension. Brian Barry-Murphy (Achilles) remains a long-term absentee.
