Daniels set for Iron debut

Scunthorpe's new signing Luke Daniels is expected to make his debut for the club in the home game against MK Dons.

Daniels, who arrived last week from West Brom and signed a two-and-a-half year contract, has been drafted in due to injuries to Sam Slocombe and James Severn, who both sustained a broken arm in Scunthorpe's recent home defeat to Bristol City.

Manager Mark Robins has no major new injury or suspension worries as his side bid to bounce back from their first defeat in eight league games.

Alex Davey, on loan from Chelsea, striker Gary McSheffrey and winger Hakeeb Adelakun are among those pushing for recalls.

MK Dons have no new problems as they go in search of the victory that would see them move to the top of the table.

Manager Karl Robinson, who will serve the second game of a four-match touchline ban, will check on midfielder Mark Randall and winger Ben Reeves (hamstring) after both players missed out against Barnsley on Saturday through injury.

Will Grigg has started every game since Benik Afobe's departure but it seems only a matter of time before the starting striker position is rotated. Jonson Clarke-Harris is the main candidate to start up front following his two impressive substitute appearances, although fellow recent signing Devante Cole and Tom Hitchcock are also options for Robinson.

Meanwhile, there will be the usual battle for places in the remaining attacking positions with Carl Baker, Samir Carruthers, Daniel Powell, Dean Bowditch and Danny Green all pushing for places. Cole is also capable of playing out wide on the left.
