Bishop to boost Iron

Scunthorpe midfielder Neal Bishop could return to contention for the home game against Leyton Orient.

Summer signing Bishop is hoping to feature after missing the last two games due to a foot injury, while defender Eddie Nolan remains doubtful due to a troublesome hamstring problem.

Manager Russ Wilcox, who has no major new injury worries, is likely to stick with Paddy Madden and Lyle Taylor up front. The latter scored his first goal for the club in the midweek win against Coventry.

Goalkeeper Sam Slocombe (shoulder), midfielder David Syers, defenders David Mirfin and Miles Addison, plus striker Deon Burton (all knee) remain long-term absentees.

Russell Slade will still be in charge of Leyton Orient for the trip north.

Slade received a stay of execution on Tuesday night following the 1-1 draw at Notts County, a match which he revealed on Saturday he needed to win in order to to save his job.

The O's are still without full-back Gary Sawyer (tendonitis), midfielder Lloyd James (thigh) and striker Kevin Lisbie (shoulder) through injury while Gary Woods will continue in goal if Adam Legzdins (finger) is ruled out again.

Winger Dean Cox came off the bench for the final 20 minutes at County following a knee injury and could be named in the starting line-up.
