Kee and O'Neill set for Iron bows

Scunthorpe will have proven marksman Billy Kee in their squad for Tuesday night's League One clash with Fleetwood at Glanford Park after signing the striker from Burton, while full-back Luke O'Neill has also been snapped up.

Kee scored 14 times for the League Two outfit last term and the 23-year-old Northern Irishman has already shown his well-being this season with a double strike in Saturday's defeat of Dagenham.

O'Neill struggled to make an impression at Burnley but the 22-year-old previously enjoyed a successful season with Mansfield in 2011-12 and has picked up further experience on loan at York, Kettering, Tranmere and Southend - making 90 first-team appearances overall.

Midfielder Dave Syers is out after suffering an opening-day injury, while Sam Slocombe missed Saturday's 4-0 home loss to Preston with a shoulder problem picked up in the midweek Capital One Cup victory at Blackburn and faces a late fitness test again, with James Severn having deputised between the posts.

Gareth Evans should be fine for Fleetwood, who are bidding to maintain their 100 per cent start to their league campaign.

The midfielder had to go off during the 1-0 win over Notts County on Saturday to have half-a-dozen stitches in a foot wound but came back on the pitch and completed the full 90 minutes anyway.

Mark Roberts' injury means Stephen Jordan and Nathan Pond will likely be the central-defensive partnership.

Summer signing Stephen Dobbie will not be rushed back from an ankle problem while fellow striker Jamille Matt is out for the season after breaking his leg.
