The Roots Hall pitch had been damaged by the extreme weather conditions and had passed an afternoon inspection before the clash was postponed.[LNB]The Iron had travelled to Southend with a strong squad and Adkins fears he may not have that luxury when the re-arranged game is played.[LNB]"We probably won't be as strong as this when we come down again," Adkins told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.[LNB]"We'll probably have an injury or suspension. We're in a good run of form and wanted that to continue.[LNB]"I can understand the referee's decision. Everyone will ask questions, but could it have been handled any better? I don't know.
