Sammon to snub Scunthorpe

Kilmarnock striker Conor Sammon looks set to snub a move to Scunthorpe after returning to Scotland. The 16-goal forward held talks with Iron manager Ian Baraclough on Monday and the club had been hopeful of concluding a deal. However, Sammon reportedly had concerns about the Championship outfit's current position in the relegation zone, as well as relocation, and United admit his capture now appears unlikely. "The player came down for talks and went away to think about things with his family overnight," general manager David Beeby told the Scunthorpe Telegraph. "But he confirmed that he was not sure it was the right move for him. Therefore he has gone back up to Scotland. "We made the player a good offer and it is through the feeling that the move was not right for him rather than the financial terms that he has come to this decision. Unless the player has a change of mind, then I think that is the end of the road for us."
