Scunthorpe defender Michael Raynes has been ruled out until at least January with the thigh injury he sustained at Derby last weekend.
The former Stockport centre-back was substituted late in the first half against the Rams and will not play again this year.
Boss Ian Baraclough said: "Michael has a Grade Two tear on his thigh so we're looking at six to eight weeks.
"I think you can say that 2010 is finished on the football pitch for Michael.
"It's a blow for us and for the player but I'm sure he'll come back strong."
