On-loan Forte returns to Iron
The 22-year-old also had a month on loan at Meadow Lane towards the end of 2008 and rejoined Ian McParland's side in February.
Forte scored eight goals in 18 appearances during his two stints at the League Two club and returned to Scunthorpe with a glowing reference from McParland.
"Jonathan has played his part in our season and we thank him very much for his efforts," said the Magpies manager.
"He applied himself very well in training and also in matches. Most of his goals were crucial in us collecting points.
"He is a nice lad who moulded in with the rest of the group very well and became a popular member of the squad."
