O'Connor worry for Iron

Scunthorpe boss Alan Knill could be without midfielder Michael O'Connor ahead of the crunch trip to relegation rivals Crystal Palace. The Northern Ireland international was substituted at half-time during Tuesday's 2-0 home defeat to Reading after feeling his thigh tighten up. He did not train on Thursday and will be assessed closer to kick-off as the Iron bid to bounce back from the setback against the Royals. Striker Joe Garner suffered a blow to the head against Brian McDermott's side but Knill expects him to be available to face Palace, who lie six points and one place above Scunthorpe. Winger Garry Thompson has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing groin surgery and defender Cliff Byrne remains sidelined with a calf injury.
