O'Connor backed for Irish recall
The 21-year-old has been in outstanding form for the Iron since joining from Crewe in the summer and produced arguably his best performance of the season in Tuesday's 3-1 win over Preston.[LNB]Adkins believes Belfast-born O'Connor, who has been out of the Northern Ireland squad of late, can soon regain his spot and add to his six international caps.[LNB]"I think he'll be pushing for an international place soon," he said. "He's played on the right of our midfield and he compliments our other midfielders.[LNB]"He has worked very well and he did well to help us nullify a very good Preston side, that's the big thing."[LNB][LNB]
