Mirfin ready to take on Swans

The former Huddersfield man has been sidelined with an ankle injury, but he is in contention to face the Swans and could feature from the start if Rob Jones is ruled out. Jones was carried off in Saturday's 4-0 thrashing at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday after colliding with a post and it was later revealed he had suffered concussion. The summer signing from Hibernian is unlikely to be risked from the start, which will give either Mirfin or youngster Niall Canavan an opportunity to start. Canavan made his first appearance for the club against the Owls and made a good impression, which could prompt boss Nigel Adkins to give him a first start for the Iron. Midfielder Sam Togwell could also come into the starting line-up after coming off the bench at Hillsborough. Andrew Wright (broken metatarsal) is a long-term absentee and Kenny Milne (knee) is not yet ready to return.
