Mirfin considering Iron future

Central defender David Mirfin has admitted he is considering his future at the club after a spell on the bench. Mirfin, 25, is out of contract in the summer, and has made only four starts since picking up an injury in October- despite being argubally the club's most consistent performer since joining the Iron in 2008 for a fee of £150,000.  He told BBC Radio Humberside: "I'm at an age now where I need to be playing week-in week-out, so maybe my future lies elsewhere," he said. "There's three lads in front of me who are going to be here next year and I want to be playing. The defender, who has been hampered by niggling injuries since his move from Huddersfield indicated that talks would now be left until the end of the season, but also suggested there has been no contact from other clubs as of yet. "At my age I want to be playing at the highest level I can. Obviously money does dictate sometimes, but if I've got the chance to play at a high level I've got to take it."
