The 21-year-old filled in during the absence of injured shot-stoppers Kevin Pilkington and Russell Hoult, before ending his stint at Meadow Lane with a clean sheet in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Barnet.

County manager Ian McParland told the club's official website: "Josh has been terrific for us and I'm delighted he managed to keep a clean sheet on Saturday because there's no doubt he's deserved one.

"Pilks is back fit again now so Josh has gone back to Scunthorpe.

"We would like to thank both parties for helping us out when we were in desperate need of a goalkeeper.

"Josh has shown he has all the attributes to make a good career for himself in the game and I sincerely hope he does."
