A sixth-placed finish and a play-off semi-final awaits Scunthorpe as long as they avoid defeat. The 21-year-old was called into emergency action for Scunthorpe on Tuesday night after regular goalkeeper Joe Murphy injured his groin in training. Lillis reacted superbly, pulling off a string of fine saves to help his side earn their first clean sheet in five games in a 3-0 win, and he insists he is ready if Murphy fails to recover in time. "It was a bit of a shock to find out I was playing so close to the game, but Kevin Pressman always tells us to be ready for the unexpected," he told the Scunthorpe Telegraph. "You'd have to say he'll be a doubt for the weekend after missing Tuesday night, but we'll have to wait and see. I'll be ready for it if I'm needed. It's a big game, but we'll not be playing for a draw, we want to win."
