Laws delighted to end GP misery

Brian Laws was delighted as the Iron came from behind to secure back to back wins for the first time in two years.

Matt Sparrow scored on his return to Glanford Park to put Crawley ahead but Jimmy Ryan and Niall Canavan made sure of all three points.

The Iron hadn't won back to back league games at home since March 2011 and Laws was quick to express his delight that the home slump has seemingly ended.

“I do feel sorry for them,” Laws said about the long suffering Scunthorpe fans.

“To not having seen their team win back to back games in two years is a shocking statistic. “But not just that, with the changes that have gone on at the club, many of the players will have not experienced this. “Now the challenge for us is to progress even further and make it three wins back to back at home.”

Laws admitted that although the football played in the games against Portsmouth and Crawley wasn't pretty- it's getting the three points that count.

“If we are to stay in this division then we have to start winning football matches, however we do it"
